A recent decision of the
Florida Supreme Court, known as
Engle vs. Liggett Group,
has approved
approved a
significant part of the jury verdict in favor of some
cigarette smokers and against some manufactures of
cigarettes. The decision says that based on the jury
verdict against the tobacco companies, individual lawsuits
for damages can be brought against these tobacco companies:

Smokers
who receive the benefit of this jury verdict include persons
who suffered from certain smoking related diseases before
November 21, 1996, or their surviving spouse or children.
